Doeden Home

This home was built for a family of three in Mason City. Both boys have disabilities that made living in their old house difficult. Kathy's family is very grateful to now have a new home that is outfitted to meet all their needs.

Kathy is the single mother of two boys, Brandon, 19, and Nathan, 17.  Both boys have disabilities that make living in her present home difficult.  Brandon has been diagnosed with a form of Muscular Dystrophy which causes motor skill and mobility issues.  Nathan has Spina Bifida and is confined to a wheel chair.  The home they currently share is not handicap accessible. Kathy is originally from Swaledale and has lived in the North Iowa Area all her life.  She works for Comp Systems as a direct care aid assisting special needs children and adults. Nathan is a big fan of NASCAR racing.  Brandon enjoys Vikings football and working on the computer.  He will graduate from NIACC this spring as a Computer Specialist.
